A.R. Kane is a British duo formed by Alex Ayuli and Rudy Tambala in 1986. Known for their experimental sound, they gained attention with two early EPs, leading to their debut album 69 (1988), which topped the UK Independent Chart. Their follow-up album, i (1989), was also a top 10 hit. They contributed to MARRS’ iconic track “Pump Up the Volume” (1987). Ayuli is credited with coining the term “dreampop,” reflecting their unique mix of effects-heavy guitars, dub influences, and drum machines.
After selling out The Jazz Cafe recently, they are ready to take the stage at Dingwalls.
