Pink Shabab is the heartbreak funk-pop solo project of London musician Joseph Carvell. After years as a trusted bass player for the likes of Laetitia Sadier, Marker Starling, Baby Dee, Malphino and many more bands, Pink Shabab was created. A few demos and concerts later, an invitation came from Emma ‘Astrobal’ Mario to the South of France to record a debut album. 2019’s ‘Ema by the Sea’ released on the Berlin label Karaoke Kalk.
‘Groovy and laid-back, danceable and intimate, the minimalist structures of Carvell’s songwriting open up a lot of space and make room for plenty of surprises along the way.’ – Forced Exposure
Since then Pink Shabab has performed in UK, France, Switzerland, Belgium, toured in Taiwan and recorded three more albums with the same producer, the first – ‘Never Stopped Loving You’ released in February 2022.
‘It’s a feel-good album in the tradition of the best sad disco songs, balancing upbeat rhythms with matters of burden and loss.’ – The Letter
The latest album ‘Do You Remember?’ will be released on Charlie Bones‘ new imprint in Spring 2023.

Ms Ray‘s lo-fi, hypnotic sound is nostalgic and new – ‘a sublime take on late 80’s / 90’s Street Soul, electronic pop & R&B, yet with her own stamp and voice,’ (Mr Bongo, 2023).
Since her debut solo EP ‘Wow Is Now’ in 2020, she has enjoyed support from Bradley Zero, Charlie Bones, Laura Groves, Avalon Emerson, Shanti Celeste & others, while her recent collaboration ‘Witching Hour’ with Nat Home (Winged Feet, 2022) has been filling dance floors across the UK.
Ms Ray’s songs interweave themes of empowerment, self-discovery and the healing potential of the present. She performs live with percussionist Michele Chowrimootoo, and both of them welcome you to the dancefloor with open arms, minds & hearts.
