From boogie woogie to a New Orleans legend, and from classic rock’n’roll to psychobilly pioneers, Dylan Kirk lays out the jukebox belters that mark the milestones on his musical journey.
These are songs that are staples in my life. They have helped me build who I am,” says Dylan Kirk. His 2021 debut album, Introducing Dylan Kirk And The Killers forced the rockin’ world to sit up and take notice of this precocious performer who could shake, rattle and roll the piano, summoning the spirit of the great Jerry Lee Lewis. Alongside his fluency in rock’n’roll,
Kirk is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, and a musician of diverse tastes, having covered the Guana Batz on the stage and on record. That influence came from what Kirk calls his “psychobilly phase” as a teenager. “But I’ve gone back to the roots again and gotten more into the rhythm and blues side,” he continues. “I’m just mixing and matching everything at the moment and putting together what makes me, me.”
